DG-2: Level 2 Dissolved Gas Analysis
Applications: Useful for determining the source of methane in a water well, and also provides information on the aquifer conditions. For instance, stable isotope analysis of water can provide information on mixing between aquifers, brine contamination and may indicate whether bacterial methane has either formed in, or migrated into the aquifer.
Sample size required: 300 ml to 1 liter of water. (requires special containers).
Analyses includes: All analyses in the basic analysis DG-1 plus δD and δ18O of H2O and δ13C of DIC.
