DG-3: Level 3 Dissolved Gas Analysis
Applications: Useful for distinguishing natural gases that are chemically very similar and not readily distinguished by the basic DG-1 analysis. For example, DG-3 may sometimes be used for distinguishing gases from different horizons in one producing area.
Sample size required: 300 ml to 1 liter of water. (requires special containers).
Analyses includes: All analyses in the basic analysis DG-1 plus determination of δ13C of C2H6 and δ13C of C3H8.
